48 favorite colors

My scrapbooking friends will know what this Project 10/List 1 – Image 8 is, specifically Jenn, who bought these for me:

It’s my set of Zig Twin-Tip Writer pens. There isn’t a color I could possibly want to write with that isn’t in here. I haven’t done much scrapbooking lately, but I do use these pens. Love them!

catching up

Whew! I actually had a really busy weekend and am just now sort of getting caught up on things. The highlights were seeing Oscar-nominated movies all day with Chris on Saturday, taking pictures of Hunter and Ava on Sunday afternoon, and then meeting with Shelby Leigh on Sunday evening to talk about second-shooting at one of her upcoming weddings in April.

The Oscars are sort of old news, and I already posted a little about Hunter and Ava, so I’ll tell you about my meeting with Shelby. I spotted a post from Shelby on a photography forum that we both read, and saw that she was looking for a second-shooter*. We chatted over email and decided to meet up to talk shop. Let me tell you what I instantly liked about her (besides the fact that I love her work): she is super laid-back, and such a jump-right-into-the-water kind of person! She shot her very first wedding totally on her own, and just seemed so relaxed and confident about the whole thing. I’m really excited about working with her in April and I hope a bit of her courage rubs off on me.

A second-shooter accompanies the principle photographer (in this case, to a wedding) and provides additional coverage, different angles and perspectives, and allows the event to be covered in two places at one time.

hunter and ava

Just a really quick little peek at Hunter and Ava who I met on Sunday. Hunter had an impressive amount of energy. He was constantly on the move and I’m pretty sure he could’ve kept going for hours!

Dear sweet little Ava, Hunter’s friend, at just 10 weeks old:

Look at those tiny toes! She was so ticklish:

organized? sort of.

I’m sort of an organization freak wannabe. I love The Container Store. I love labeling things. I love for everything to have a place. But the wannabe part is because sometimes it takes me a while to come up with or implement a solution. I’ve only recently discovered that having three hampers (one for darks, one for whites, one for dry cleaning) in my bedroom closet is the answer to my laundry issues.

I have a lot of small things sitting around in my office to which I need quick access on a daily basis. So today’s Project 10/List 1 – Image 7 is dedicated to my Daily System cubby from Pottery Barn, where I store batteries, battery chargers, CF cards, my Epson P3000, iPods, my little point-and-shoot camera and other miscellaneous little stuff:

I couldn’t commit to putting just certain things in this cubby so I had a hard time with what to put in the little label holders. I ended up just putting inspirational words in there instead: beautiful, play, lucky, life, balance and design.

And again, I’m just a “wannabe” because I have this cubby system, but a lot of the stuff that goes in there is still scattered around in my office right now. At least I try!
