tony & mary – 4.26.08

I can’t say enough fabulous things about Sarah Hodzic of Blink Photography, and I had so much fun shooting with her and Michael Juiliano at Tony & Mary’s wedding this past Saturday. I’ll just share a few of my favorite images here, but for the whole beautiful story definitely go take a look at Sarah’s blog!

I’m specifically starting off with a couple images of the Fort Belvoir Chapel, because I had never been to Fort Belvoir before and didn’t know what to expect. The chapel was so beautiful with big windows allowing for lots of natural light.

These are my favorite flowers!

Mary was an absolutely stunning bride; check out the back of her dress. Gorgeous!

You know I love photographing kids, so when I saw all of the little ones squeezing together with their arms around each other I had to get this one from the back, too.

Just lovely. And so fun. Thank you to Sarah for inviting me along, and to Tony and Mary for allowing me to share this day with them!

Yay Susan! I was SOOO excited to have you along for the ride.
Tony and Mary were a great couple and I couldn’t have done it with out you and Michael.

I really look forward to continuing to work together. You are a tremendous help and have a wonderful eye!!

Thanks a million times over.
Sarah

Gorgeous shots, Susan. Gotta get me one of them fish-eyes! And you are so right about her dress-that picture you took of the back is just amazing.

honk if you’re happy

I was driving home from work today and passed alongside a minivan with a kid in the passenger seat holding a sign out the window with the words “honk if you’re happy” scribbled on it. So I honked enthusiastically a few times and he bounced up and down in the seat laughing. I drove on thinking about how my younger brother and I would do stuff like that on family road trips (we especially loved to wave or give people a simple thumbs-up sign) and it made me smile.

That’s all, just a little bright spot in my day!

:)

I used to try and get truckers to honk their horns. I remember how cool I felt when they actually did it!

Cheers,
Jaci

How fun! I did that too when I was little. For some reason I also used to do a bunny sign!? And for some reason people acted like they knew what I was doing and they did it back!
Aren’t those simple little moments so sweet? It reminds me of Pay It Forward–sometimes it’s just a little thing like that that can turn your whole day around. It made me smile just to read about it.

family portraits

Yesterday morning I had so much fun doing some portraits of this beautiful family. How gorgeous are they? Take a look (I especially LOVE this first black-and-white of them – so sweet!):

And then yesterday afternoon I second-shot for Sarah Hodzic along with Michael Juiliano at a really nice wedding in Fort Belvoir, but more on that soon!
