Camilla & John – 10.2.09

I love it when Chris and I feel like wedding guests who just happen to be taking the pictures, and Camilla and John are both such warm hosts so that’s exactly how we felt at their wedding last night! They are both just so sweet, and have such fun friends. We had a cool, cloudy day, which was 100x better than the rain that was forecast for the afternoon/evening. I spent just a few minutes with Camilla before we headed over to the church. She’s a girl after my own heart because she had two pairs of shoes to choose from – I can’t decide on stuff like that either. I love the ones she went with, though!

They went perfectly with her gorgeous dress.

Matron of honor helping out with the last few details.

Meanwhile, Chris was back at the church hanging out with the guys. Here John is clearly getting some crucial advice from one of the groomsmen. Or they’re talking about random guy stuff, I have no idea.

The ceremony took place at St. John Neumann Catholic Church in Reston. Don’t the stained glass windows add such a great pop of color?

Camilla and John chose to see each other before the ceremony, which I LOVE for so many reasons. We were able to get all of the group portraits done before the ceremony started. Bonus!

I love this perfect shot that Chris captured – Camilla looks so beautiful and so excited!

Good-looking bridal party? Um, yeah! Gorgeous!

Chris was working these beautiful close-up shots:

We did do all of the pictures before the ceremony, but I couldn’t resist taking Camilla and John out into Reston Town Center for a few more. Here’s my view…

And here’s Chris’s view!

The reception was held in one of the beautiful ballrooms at the Hyatt Regency in Reston.

I couldn’t decide which of Chris’s first dance pictures I liked better, so I’m showing you both!

The amazing band, Round Midnight, kept the dance floor totally packed, and I mean PACKED. I had to get out my wide-angle lens and hop up on the stage to get a good shot of this crowd.

You know it’s a good party when someone ends up with a necktie around his head.

Martha, one of the uber-talented singers, was out on the dance floor singing to this cutie to get him into the music…

And this was his response (hilarious):

Bridesmaids!

There were so many hands up in the air for “(You know you make me wanna) Shout!”

Camilla and John, best wishes and congratulations to you both! Chris and I could not have been more honored to document your wedding. We really did have a wonderful time!

Holy Smokes!! These are crazy-good. Where should I start?! One of the best “first look” series I’ve seen to date…You and Chris are so good at capturing emotion. In fact, those close-ups he got of their First Dance are killer! Love the fountain pics. And the ring shot. (And that cute little red-head dancing for Martha!)

Susan, it is so difficult to capture the ‘moments’ and you & Chris truly captured it all. It was one of the loviest weddings I have ever been to, and we have the memories documented perfectly from you!
