  • New Album Option

Jenn and Stephen’s album arrived and I gave it to them last night, so I can finally post pictures! This is a new album option that I’ll be adding to my information packet because I’m completely in love with the beautiful, modern simplicity of this book. It’s a hand-made flush-mount album with a gorgeous full-grain leather cover and archival printing. The options for this album are very streamlined (choose the size and cover color – that’s it!), so it’s a perfect choice for couples who simply can’t bear to have to make another decision after the wedding. I have my own sample on the way, as well as leather swatches, so if you’re interested in seeing more of this fabulous book, please let me know!

Jenn chose a very classic white leather cover. The book comes nestled in this adorable protective pouch:

The spreads lay nice and flat for easy viewing.

You know how I love to show details, and I specifically want to point out the amazing craftsmanship of these albums:

Edit: Updated to include this photo of current color swatches! Aren’t these colors fun?!

  • Jeanne & Eric – 01.03.09

A few weeks ago, I finished up (or started up, depending on how you look at it) the wedding season tagging along with Kate Triano to a wedding in Alexandria. Eric and Jeanne, one of the sweetest most adorable couples ever, decided to see each other before the ceremony, which gave us plenty of time to do pictures of just the two of them and also get the family/group portraits out of the way.

Kate and I had fun shooting in the gorgeous lobby of the Hotel Monaco.

After taking a few portraits, we walked a few blocks down (it was such a nice day!) to St. Mary’s for the ceremony.

    Mr. and Mrs.!

    Lovely details from the reception:

The Christmas decorations were still up and the room had such a warm, festive glow.

Eric was such a trooper, and was still dapper on the dance floor despite his broken foot!

    Listening to heartwarming toasts:

Jeanne working it out on the dance floor with her sister:

My last shot of the night was a quick shot of the rings on a bright splash of color!

  • Arti & Gautam – 11.22.08

It’s time to post Arti and Gautam’s wedding that I second-shot with Jenn Link! I’m really just not going to be able to describe this amazing, huge, lavish event all on my own. So, I’ll post a few of my random favorites here, and I’ll direct you to Jenn’s blog for the full story. She has put together a fabulous slideshow that really does give you an idea of just how exquisite this wedding was.

Gorgeous colors, textures, jewels and flowers completely transformed the Reston Hyatt ballroom:

The day started off for Gautam with a traditional Baraat outside of the Hyatt. It was cold, but everyone kept warm by dancing:

Back inside for the ceremony, Gautam awaits his bride:

Arti coming down the aisle. I’m pretty sure my jaw was on the floor at this point – she is stunning!

Walking together in a circle around the sacred fire:

A post-ceremony portrait in the lobby after an outfit change:

Some rich and luxurious ceremony details:

I thought these placecards were just so cute!

This is a family that really knows how to party. I had so much fun watching and photographing them dancing – with that kind of music and energy flowing, it was hard for me to stay still!

Arti and Gautam – this was such an amazing experience for me. I’m so glad to have been a part of your day! Thanks to Jenn for having me along!

  • Arti & Gautam – Mehendi & Sangeet

Last month I second-shot for one of my favorite photographers, Jenn Link, at Arti and Gautam’s mehendi and sangeet celebration before their wedding. And while I want to share a few quick photos here, you simply must hop over to Jenn’s blog to see the full story. She has tons of beautiful images over there.

I’ll start with a few details because the room was just so cool:

Arti’s friends and family were waiting to welcome Gautam:

As soon as Gautam entered, the celebration began!

The mehendi celebration is traditionally where the bride has intricate decorative henna patterns applied to her hands and feet prior to the wedding:

Coming up soon are the photos from their lavish ceremony and reception – it was definitely one of the most fun events of the year!

  • Kathy & Mike – 11.15.08

I’m really crunched for time again, so just a few favorite photos from this wedding that I second-shot for Marlene last weekend. You’ll be able to see more of the story over on her blog. I spent some time with all of the guys before the ceremony and did the traditional group portraits, but this one is my favorite of Mike and my new friend, Brian (who couldn’t get enough of me taking his picture):

And then this one of Mike, planning his escape before the ceremony began (just kidding Kathy!):

Don’t let the gorgeous blue skies in this next image fool you – it was only momentary. For the rest of the day we had gray, dreary weather. Kathy and Mike didn’t let it dampen their spirits though. After all, it’s good luck! St. Raymond of Penafort in Springfield was beautiful and modern, and had tons of light.

And we had access to the choir room/balcony, which makes me happy. I love shots from above.

This was taken from upstairs, too. Kathy’s dress was silk, and just stunning:

As I made my way back down from the balcony I spied on the ceremony through the doors:

Warm and lovely reception details from The Villa in Calverton, MD.

And my favorite shot of the night, the father-daughter dance…so incredibly sweet.

Best wishes and congratulations Kathy and Mike! Hope you have a wonderful time in St. Lucia and that you have much better weather while you’re there!
