  • Tony & Mary – 4.26.08

I can’t say enough fabulous things about Sarah Hodzic of Blink Photography, and I had so much fun shooting with her and Michael Juiliano at Tony & Mary’s wedding this past Saturday. I’ll just share a few of my favorite images here, but for the whole beautiful story definitely go take a look at Sarah’s blog!

I’m specifically starting off with a couple images of the Fort Belvoir Chapel, because I had never been to Fort Belvoir before and didn’t know what to expect. The chapel was so beautiful with big windows allowing for lots of natural light.

    These are my favorite flowers!

Mary was an absolutely stunning bride; check out the back of her dress. Gorgeous!

You know I love photographing kids, so when I saw all of the little ones squeezing together with their arms around each other I had to get this one from the back, too.

Just lovely. And so fun. Thank you to Sarah for inviting me along, and to Tony and Mary for allowing me to share this day with them!

  • Matt & Julie – 4.18.08

As promised, here are a few of the images I shot for the wedding with Shelby Leigh last Friday. Everything was so beautiful and fun, and the couple was so sweet! Oh and this officially completes number 73 on my 101 in 1001 list, “second-shoot at a wedding.”

  • Flourish: Bridal Portraits

The second session of the second day at Flourish we had the opportunity to observe Angela in her studio working with models in amazing wedding gowns. She was totally in her element, and it was such a treat to watch her work. Angela’s cinematic lighting genius husband, Gary, set up some really fabulous lighting and taught us about various techniques and equipment.

This was my first time ever doing bridal portraits! I really love these dramatic images of Leah in her Romona Keveza dress with this crisp lighting:

When Gary switched on this fabulously stunning lighting for us, everyone instantly ooo’ed and ahh’ed over it:

I really need to get my hands on some hot lights to play around with that kind of set up! Okay and while I’m wishing, I wish I had a studio space like this. I’d probably never leave!

Last but not least, Erica is wearing a beautiful Paloma Blanca (style 3806):

I seriously could’ve taken pictures of them all day. Everything about each of the girls was breathtaking. Ana Crane-Simpson did THE most spectacular job on the girls’ make-up; she deserves a huge shout-out. And all of the dresses from Bluegrass Bride were amazing.

Next up: (get ready for this) the “lights out” session!
