  • Coelle & Corey’s Wedding Album

When Coelle and Corey’s Custom Flush Mount Album arrived via UPS, my squeals were probably heard ’round the world. I was so excited to see it! I actually meant to take more photos, but I know they were both anxious to see it as well, so I wanted to get it to them as quickly as possible. They decided to go with an inset cover photo (one of my favorites from the day) and upgraded distressed leather in brown. I wish that somehow you could reach through your screen and feel its buttery softness.

An additional upgrade on this one was an extra 10 pages of design, for a really hefty 40 pages total. I loved the weight and feel of it!

Blind embossing on the cover and also on the spine provided the perfect finishing touches. Love it! (Wanted to keep it.)

  • More Soon…Promise!

Well hello! It’s Monday, and I know I usually have a post for you, but alas there are a few posts in the works and/or on hold. This past weekend I helped out my amazingly talented friend, Kristen Gardner, with a beautiful wedding in Charlottesville so at some point I’ll probably be able to show you a few photos from that day. Sunday, I met up with one of my wonderful October 2011 couples, Debbie & Adam, for our engagement session only to be thwarted (first time I’ve used that word on the blog!) by a rainstorm of monsoon proportions! Seriously, the forecast said we should be fine after 2pm, but we were not fine – we were nearly drenched! So we rescheduled, and I’ll have their photos to show you at some point this summer. Those two are super cute, and I can’t wait to photograph them!

And…I also did a bridal portrait session in Annapolis last week with my gorgeous 9.10.11 bride, Reina, but you’re going to have to wait until after the wedding to see those photos! I know, I know – such a teaser! Until then, I will just leave you with one photo from our session, commemorating Reina & Dave’s wedding date:

  • Megan & Brad – 6.4.11

If you are reading this post and you haven’t met Megan or Brad, I sincerely wish that you could know them. They’re two of the nicest, sweetest people ever, and they were a joy to photograph on Saturday! And I couldn’t wait a minute longer to post these photos, so here they are!

Their wedding ceremony and reception were held at Airlie Conference Center in Warrenton, VA.

How cute is Megan’s mom watching the preparations?!

    A letter from Brad…

    Gooooooorgeousness!

Every bride has that moment where it hits and she really feels like a bride, and this is Megan’s moment:

Meanwhile, Chris was with the guys who were already dressed and playing cornhole. And I didn’t know what cornhole was until Chris explained it to me! (Am I horribly sheltered?)

I LOVE these shots that Chris took of Brad and the groomsmen getting a little energy boost before the ceremony:

Dear 5-Hour Energy, you’re welcome for the advertisement!

I also love this shot that Chris caught of Megan right before she walked out to the garden.

Later in the day, Megan kept saying, “We just got married!” and it was the cutest thing ever.

My view on the left, Chris’s view on the right. Go Team!

You’re probably wondering how two people can even be so cute, and all I can tell you is that I’ve seen it with my own eyes and clearly I have photographic proof!

Confession: I borrowed these table cards at the reception for a ring photo, and I didn’t realize I was actually using a ‘9’ instead of a ‘6’ – ha! But I like the symmetry of the upside-down text. Happy accident!

Megan’s dad’s toast was incredibly touching.

We had our facebooth with us again, and this was the first time we tried it outdoors. It turns out it’s just as much fun outside as it is inside! Good to know. 😉

Hey look! It’s Alia and Ben. Alia referred me to Renee and Natie…

Hey look, it’s Renee and Natie! And Renee referred me to Megan and Brad. I love that so much!

I also love all the different skills I get to see at weddings. You know, like balancing skills:

    And dancing skills:

    I just adore these people!

Megan and Brad! Chris and I feel so lucky to have been a part of your wedding day. It has been such a pleasure getting to know you both, and we wish you all the happiness in the world! Thank you for the perfect day, and for allowing us to capture your wedding memories. Best wishes!

  • Alexis & Scott – 5.21.11

There may have been a little something else in the news about 5.21.11, but for Chris and me it was Alexis and Scott’s wedding day at Raspberry Plain in Leesburg, VA, and it couldn’t have been a more perfect day! And I pretty much want to jump right into the photos just to show you how fun and fantastic the day was. Two of the sweetest people:

And the sweetest bunch of girls. Hi girls!

Seeing the flowers for the first time (she loves them!):

And for good reason – the flowers were beautiful!

Grandmother’s necklace, which was later wrapped around the bouquet:

    I have the cooooooooolest clients!

I love this image that Chris took of Scott’s parents just before the ceremony. How cute is the MOG taking a little peek into the ceremony site?!

    Aw!

Lots of smiles, laughs and a few tears during the ceremony:

    But mostly big smiles!

Okay, so if you know me well, you’ll realize that me getting out into the middle of this field was kind of a big deal. I think my camera instantly makes me very brave, because I’ll do pretty much anything to get a good shot. And if I wasn’t shooting, there’s usually no way I would wander into a field of tall grasses like this! Hellooooooo bugs and worst of all, ticks! I get goosebumps thinking about it.

But going out into the field was SO WORTH IT. I mean, seriously:

Love all of the fun, bright-colored details at the reception:

Photo of the new Mr. & Mrs. taken by Chris (it almost rhymes)!

Um, so yeah…this next photo that Chris took of the first dance is one of my all-time favorite images of his. Yes, I love it THAT much!

We loved the best man’s fun toast and the reactions to it:

Really sweet maid of honor toast moment:

    Really proud parents:

And then it’s time to get down!

We set up the facebooth again, and again it was a big hit! There were even bubbles that made an appearance! So fun:

Hey, look! It’s Lisa, of Lisa & Dan!

    Love it!

    LOVE this, so much!

Best wishes and congratulations, Alexis and Scott! I can’t think of a better way to have spent 5.21.11. 🙂 We loved celebrating with you, and had such a fun time photographing you and your guests! Wishing you both all the best!

  • Amy & Scott – 5.14.11

Amy and Scott were married last Saturday on a day that looked like we would never have a moment of dry sky. The day started off cloudy and misty, and never really let up for more than a few minutes, but the wedding must go on! (That should really be a more common phrase like, “the show must go on.”) Both the ceremony and the reception were held at Airlie Conference Center, and although the grounds were a bit wet, everything was lush and beautiful and the day went just perfectly. Chris started the afternoon by taking some photos of Scott and the guys.

Just chillin’ before the ceremony (I love this shot!):

Meanwhile I hung out with Amy and the girls, and Amy’s amazing dress:

    Amy looked stunning!

    Petal practice:

Keeping an eye on the weather:

Whoever had the genius idea of wrapping Amy and her dress back up in the original plastic bag is, well, a genius! No one ever looked more beautiful wearing plastic. 🙂

Once under cover of the pavilion, the plastic was shed and Amy’s father walked her down the aisle.

    Married!

We literally had about a 10-minute break from the rain (yay! I’ll take it!), so we quickly took a few portraits around the grounds.

And just as it started to sprinkle again, we grabbed these last two images:

One of Chris’s specialties is capturing the most romantic first dance images. I love both of these!

    Sweet parent dances:

    And then the paaaaaaar-tay!

And then of course, check out the fun facebooth photos in this previous post. We love the results of the facebooth debut!

Amy and Scott, best wishes and congratulations! Chris and I were thrilled to be a part of your wedding, and we had a ton of fun meeting your friends and family and photographing the day. We wish you both all the best!
