I’m reeeeeeally late in getting this post up because I was out of town for a few days, visiting my family in Colorado. But I’m back now, and speaking of family, my sister-in-law got married at the end of June! Stephanie and Mark, who actually live in L.A. now, exchanged vows at the Arts Club of Washington on THE hottest day of the year. Steph looked amazing though, no sign of feeling the heat:
Ha! I love this next shot from Chris. And I know it says 97 degrees there, but it did get up above 100, plus there’s that heat index that made it feel like it was a million degrees.
But the show must go on! The ceremony included lots of personal touches, including a string quartet that played a beautiful arrangement composed by Mark…
And a handfasting/knot-tying ceremony.
I couldn’t decide which ring shot I liked better, so you’ll just get to see both!
I told you it was hot!
How these girls kept looking so gorgeous in the heat and humidity is beyond me.
What are they pointing at? I’ll never tell.
Doesn’t this fountain statue bear an uncanny resemblance to one of the groomsmen?!
This gallery space was perfect for an intimate reception:
Steph and Mark displayed a wish tree for guests to write on cards and share their wishes for a happy marriage:
Even Mackie, their Boston Terrier, shared his wish somehow!
They exited to the sound of their guests ringing little silver bells…
And walked off into the sunset! (Well, it was a hazy day without much of a sunset, but it sounds better to say “off into the sunset,” right?)
Steph and Mark! Chris and I are so happy for you two, and we wish you a lifetime of bliss together! We’re so happy we were not only able to share the most special day with you, but to capture your wedding photos as well. We hope you’ll treasure them for years and years to come. Lots of love, Susan and Chris.
