  • Jessica & Nick – Engaged!

You know how I always talk about the weather in conjunction with my photo sessions? Maybe subconsciously I have a deep desire to be a meteorologist or something. Anyway, I’m going to do it again – I’m going to mention the weather. I simply can’t help it!

Jessi, Nick and I planned to meet up in D.C. for their engagement session on Saturday. The rain forecast said chance of thunderstorms 50%. We decided to give it a go, and sure enough right as our session was starting, the rain started, too. Thankfully, it only lasted for a few minutes and then the sky cleared up and we were treated to a beautiful evening! On my way home after the session ended, it started raining again. So our timing couldn’t have been more perfect. Oh, and did I mention? President Obama flew in through Dulles Airport that day, so the motorcade completely blocked off my route into D.C. and made me a few minutes late. I always leave extra time for traffic, but sometimes you just can’t predict this area. Nick and Jessi were so sweet and fun to photograph so I’m really glad it all worked out! We started off by taking a few photos by the Tidal Basin where they got engaged.

    Aren’t they so cute?!

Favorite! I’m so glad the crowd of people sitting at the end of this next shot decided to move. 🙂

Jessi and Nick, it was so nice to meet both of you and to get to know you a bit! Thank you so much for wandering around with me – you were awesome to photograph. I hope you have an amazing wedding back home, and best wishes for a long, happy marriage!

  • Emily & Mat – 06.09.12

A few weeks ago Chris and I took a lovely drive to Casanova, Virginia to photograph Emily & Mat’s wedding at Poplar Springs. What a beautiful venue! Postcard perfect – you’ll see. The day couldn’t have been any better, and everything went off without a hitch. The theme was definitely friends, family and fun, and I was so honored to be a part of such a wonderful celebration of love!

    Emily…you’re simply gorgeous!

My favorite from the day! I loved the few minutes of quiet time that we were able to spend here, and how perfect is this setting?!

Emily and Mat, congratulations! Thank you so much for inviting Chris and me to take part in your day – we had a wonderful time and loved every minute of it. We wish you both a lifetime of love and happiness together!

  • Monika & Brad – 05.26.12

    Monika & Brad – 05.26.12

Oh how I loved this wedding! There’s something about Indian ceremonies that is just so beautiful – all of the traditions, the vibrant colors, and the general feel of the day, it’s just pure magic. Monika and Brad were married at her parents’ home in Vienna, where they constructed a stunning pergola specifically for the wedding day. Monika’s dress and jewels left me speechless, so it’s a good thing I’m a photographer, right? So let’s get right to the story of their ceremony, through photos instead of words, of course.

Congratulations Monika and Brad! I’m so honored to have been a part of your wedding day – your ceremony is one I will never forget. Best wishes for a long and happy life together!

  • Megan & Kevin – Engaged!

What an incredibly sweet couple these two are! Megan and Kevin spent the evening with me in DC for their engagement photos several weeks ago. It was a super windy day! Luckily it didn’t rain, but we did have to contend with the huge gusts of wind most of the time. You wouldn’t know it though, from these photos! My hair looked crazy by the end of our session (no photos of that, thank you), but Megan and Kevin looked perfect the whole time! If I knew their secret, I’d tell you.

Megan & Kevin, thank you for braving the winds with me! I really enjoyed getting to know you both a little better, and I am so excited for your wedding in September! Hopefully we’ll have a nice, calm day or just a gentle breeze, if anything. 😉

  • Monika & Brad – Engaged!

Happy summer, everyone! I have an engagement session for you! I actually met up with Monika and Brad before it was even officially summer, but I am a tad behind in blogging my sessions. Can I blame it on the heat?! I’ve actually already photographed their wedding, too, so those images will be on the way soon. I promise!

We walked through the beautiful Meadowlark Gardens on a lovely day in May when it was still nice and cool outside. There may or may not have also been a spider-on-the-camera incident where Brad became the hero. I nearly flung my camera into the lake when I discovered a green (!) spider hanging out on the LCD (true story). Onto the images of Gorgeous Monika and Brad The Hero:
