  • Amy & Scott – Engaged

Meet the uber adorable Amy & Scott! We hung out last Sunday to take some engagement photos around Old Town Alexandria on a goooorgeous day. Here are a few of my favorites, and with that, I’ll be caught up on blogging now. 🙂

Thank you, random people’s houses, for having such cute doorways, steps and railings…

And thank you, Old Town, for always having such fun colors!

    Sooo cute, you two!

I think these next three images are in a three-way tie for my very favorites:

Thanks for hanging out with me, Amy and Scott! Can’t wait to see you both again soon (in November!) and then again in May for your own wedding. 🙂

  • In the Queue…

And sometimes I do post an image or two up on Facebook first, so for the earliest sneak peeks, definitely check there as well. Even better, feel free to become a fan (i.e., “like” us) so that you see the latest posts right away!

Coming up this week – Bernadette & Kevin’s wedding:

  • Abby & Brandon – Engaged

Every once in a while, I have a photo session that Mother Nature just does not want me to photograph! With Abby and Brandon, that’s exactly what happened. On our scheduled appointments throughout the summer, the weather kept being rainy or suuuuuuper hot, but we finally ended up with a beautiful day yesterday…in August! Go figure. But now I know that we were just meant to hold out for the most perfect breezy day.

Chris doesn’t usually come with me for the engagement session, but I suspected I might need a little extra help on this one (you’ll see why in a minute), so he joined me. And I’m so glad he did – he grabbed the next two beautiful shots below: Here’s why I thought I might need some extra help! Meet Abby and Brandon’s two adorable Yorkies, Baxter and Miley! Side note: for some weird reason, I just couldn’t whistle yesterday! I normally can whistle, I swear. But my whistle wasn’t working while I was photographing the pups and trying to get their attention. I think I finally made a really high-pitched squeaking noise and got them to look at me:I’ll be honest, I’m not tooooootally sure which one is in this adorable picture courtesy of Chris, but I think this is Baxter. Abby/Brandon – am I right?! Abby has THE best skin ever.  Brandon spotted these umbrellas and suggested it as a potential photo spot, and it’s one of my absolute favorites from the session. Good eye, Brandon! So sweet!Abby and Brandon – thanks for hanging out with us yesterday! I’m so glad we finally got the chance to meet up before the wedding. We will see you in just a few short weeks, and I’m so excited!

  • Molly & Will – Engaged

It’s time for you to meet Molly and Will! My engagement session with these two wrapped up my July 2010 engagement session extravaganza (a flurry of several e-sessions all in a row) in a great way. We hit up a few national monuments for a little D.C. flavor, and I’m happy to say that we had an amazingly gorgeous day for it. Sunny and breezy, and not at all too hot. Thank you, Mother Nature, for giving us a little break from 100+ degree days! So let’s see the photos:

You two are So. Darn. Cute!

We hung out at the Jefferson Memorial for quite a few photos, and this next one is my favorite, with the fun shadows:

If you’ve ever done a session with me, you know that I love really cool trees, and this was definitely a tree of that sort:

So, Molly and Will, how did we do?! I have to say I LOVE the images we were able to get. Thank you so much for spending your evening with me! You totally earned the post-session pizza. 🙂 See you in October! I can’t wait.

  • Stephen & Lesley – Engaged

Next up, I’d like to introduce you to Stephen and Lesley in some very quintessential DC photos! I won’t even tell you it was hot on Sunday when we met up, because you’re probably tired of me saying that (but it was!). A little fun-fact about Stephen – he knows SO much great info about DC history and current events. So it was a photo session, a bit of an informational tour, AND I ended up walking three miles that day. Bonus points for learning a thing or two and getting some good exercise! Which reminds me of a little fun fact about Lesley – she totally rocked a gorgeous pair of very high heels all up and down the mall all evening without a peep. Impressive, no? Let’s get to the photos! Our first stop was the Lincoln Memorial:

This one was their idea and I love it:

    Gorgeous!

We managed to work a little nature into a shot or two like this next one:

Romantic = being so in love that you can’t resist a traffic-stopping dramatic kiss in the middle of the street. This one is my favorite! (And I promise no one was in any danger here – we are safely within the median, and traffic continued in a normal fashion.)

Thanks Stephen and Lesley for wandering around DC with me! You guys are so much fun, and I just know your wedding is totally going to be a blast. Can’t wait! See you soon. 🙂
