  • Alexis & Scott – Engaged

I’m totally going to sound like a broken record, but I had another photo session on a scoooooorching hot day yesterday! (We are just not getting a break from this hot hot heat.) Though it didn’t affect my lovely subjects whatsoever!  I met Alexis and Scott in Lansdowne for their engagement session, and we had a great time! We visited a few different spots and just ducked into the shade here and there to keep cool, and you’ll be none the wiser that it was a heat index of about 95 degrees when we took these photos:

A-dor-a-ble (said like four separate words):

Thank you, cute little town center, for having such beautiful colors for me to play with!

And for shaded breezeways with perfect light:

We ventured further into the neighborhoods of Lansdowne:

    So darn sweet!

And then we hopped in a jet and flew to a tropical location with beautiful flora and waterfalls. Okay, just kidding – but it almost looks like it, right?!

I love these next two images! Ahhh, I’m so excited for your wedding next year, Alexis and Scott! I had a great time photographing you and hanging out yesterday, and I know your wedding is going to be amazing. And hopefully with the added bonus of cooler weather. 😉 Talk to you soon!

  • Bernadette & Kevin – Engaged

If July has a theme for me, it’s definitely engagement session month! I have four scheduled in a row, so I’ll be introducing you to a lot of my amazing couples in the next few weeks. First off, meet Bernadette and Kevin!

We met up Friday evening at Meadowlark Botanical Gardens in Vienna where Bernadette used to do event planning for the gardens. We had a really bright, sunny warm day, but thankfully not AS hot as it has been. Whew! Just nice enough to stroll the beautiful gardens and get our daily dose of Vitamin D! Check out these rays:

I LOVE these next two images. So fun and sweet:

After making our way through Meadowlark, we headed over to Vienna for a few shots around town.

Their first date was at this very restaurant below, the Vienna Inn! Have I mentioned how much I love when couples incorporate special spots into their engagement photos?! B & K, thanks so much for spending your Friday evening with me! I have to admit I’m kind of curious about the chili dogs at Vienna Inn now, and I’ll have to try one sometime. 🙂 I’m really excited about photographing your wedding in September – see you in a couple of months!

  • Alanna & Brendan – Engaged

You’re probably going to ask me how I find all of these absolutely goooorgeous couples and I’ll tell you that I’m just super lucky that they find me! Alanna and Brendan met with me this past weekend to capture a little Georgetown flavor in their engagement photos, and I think we did a pretty good job of doing just that! A little fun-fact about Alanna – she’s Adrian’s (of Adrian and Alicia) sister! I am so excited to be photographing both of their weddings this summer. A little fun-fact about Brendan – it’s his birthday this week! Happy birthday, Brendan! Here are a handful of my favorite images:

I have walked past Jack’s Boathouse a few times before, but I had never stopped in. I’m definitely going back sans camera soon to give kayaking a try! This next one captured at the boathouse is my favorite:

So, for those of you familiar with the area, what do you think? Did we do justice to G-town? Thanks Alanna & Brendan for hanging out with me on Sunday! Hope you have fun celebrating this week, and I’ll see you at a couple of weddings this summer! 🙂

  • Rachel & Aaron – Engaged

You’ll get to see more of/hear more about Rachel and Aaron very soon because they are getting married in just a few weeks! Chris and I will be photographing their wedding at the beautiful Rust Manor in Leesburg, but first we met up in Old Town Alexandria for a few engagement pictures. It was super windy and quite a bit chilly, which is odd for this time of year, but we had really warm golden sunlight the whole time. (Please see Exhibit A: pictures by the river, below for examples of that yummy light!) Here are my favorites from the session!

By the way, these next three are my favorites. I love that it looks like Rachel and Aaron have the whole park to themselves, when really there were quite a few people around us. Rachel & Aaron – I’ll see you in a few weeks! I’m so glad we were able to meet up before your wedding even though I know you both have crazy schedules.  🙂  Thank you for hanging out with me and for being great sports with the windy day we had!

  • Sandy & Matt – Engaged

Sandy and Matt had one of their first dates in the quaint little town of Occoquan (aw!), so we met there last night for some engagement photos. I had never been to Occoquan before and I instantly realized it was such a perfect spot for pictures. The town is so cute, and Sandy and Matt were even cuter! Seriously, they were just super sweet together in front of the camera. Yaaay for a great location + beautiful weather/light + a fun, adorable couple! It happens to be past my bedtime as I’m writing this post, so instead of words I’ll just let you see for yourselves with a peek at a few of my favorite images:
Sandy and Matt – I had so much fun wandering around Occoquan and chatting with/photographing you both! I am so excited about your wedding this summer – I know it’s going to be amazing. See you then!
