  • Love These Faces!

I’m sorting through and editing the images from this family session, and I just came across this one that just cracked me up. I had asked the gang for their best funny faces and here’s what we came up with:

  • Round 2: Extended Family Edition!

If you have perused my blog or website over the past year, you might recognize this family from the last time I photographed them. We met up this weekend with their extended family for a big group portrait session. With five boys and one baby girl, you might expect a certain amount of chaos and I wasn’t exactly sure what to expect for an orderly portrait, but we totally got it done! Easy breezy. These kids have a ton of energy, but they’re so good and sweet, and it was fun to see how they’ve grown. So here are just a few of my favorites from the session, starting with the whole gang:

And just a few fun individual shots (I have one of each of the boys hanging from this rope ladder):

    Tree climbing!

This is one of my favorite shots of the day. So much sweetness here!

Bianca, the family’s au pair, was such a huge help with getting everyone rounded up for the photos and with making faces behind my back to get this sweet baby girl to look at me. Thanks a million, Bianca!

Thanks again for hanging out with me, guys! I had a blast (honest!), and it was great to see you again and meet the rest of the family.

  • Marjorie & Nick – Engaged!

Yesterday I spent the afternoon with Nick and Marjorie and her son, Christopher, getting my own personal tour of the little nooks and crannies of Georgetown. We had originally scheduled a session way back in the first week of April, but “April showers” had other plans, several times actually. So we rescheduled and rescheduled, and finally ended up with the most gorgeous day ever!

Christopher would have me think that he wasn’t at all into having his picture taken, but I sort of think he was loving it:

    And here’s the family!

    I told you…gorgeous weather.

Marjorie has such a great eye for detail, and she scouted out a few fun spots ahead of time!

So cute! (And I totally wish I could have a yellow garage door.)

They are so utterly adorable in this next one, it literally makes my heart swell. (Favorite!)

Marjorie, Nick, and Christopher: thanks for showing me around your town! I had fun, and I’m so glad we got to hang out before the wedding. I’m looking forward to it, and I’ll see you all then!

  • Will Pose For Ice Cream

I met an absolutely adorable family at the Belmont Country Club clubhouse yesterday for a holiday family portrait session. Originally we planned to do the pictures outside, but the day was just completely blustery so we took it indoors. They arrived all decked out in holiday colors (seriously, how cute are they?!); even two month-old Ryan was looking festive.

Evan (5), really perked up after we started discussing his post-portrait session treat: ice cream.

I love pictures of kids just being kids:

This is a behind-the-scenes look at Dad and Evan trying to get Ryan to laugh. They were successful a few times!

And one of my favorite images from the session, just a nice quiet moment with Mom before baby Ryan decided he had had enough of taking pictures.

  • Girlfriends

This is one of my favorite clients, Holly (you look gorgeous, Holly!):

You might recognize her from a family portrait session I did over the summer. Her friends from college (if I’m not mistaken they all went to Radford – correct me if I’m wrong girls!) were all planning to get together for sort of a mini-reunion/girls’ night, and Holly had the really fun idea of doing a group portrait of the girls together. I absolutely loved the idea and was so happy to do this for them. I adore my own girlfriends and would really love to have professional photos done of us, only the difference is that I definitely don’t have a group of fifteen girls that are all close – yeah, there were fifteen women! I think that’s just amazing!

So we all met over at Larlyn’s house in Arlington. This is the fabulous hostess, Larlyn (beautiful woman, with an unbelievably fantastic house):

And here are the girls! How amazing is this group?!

I talked everyone into going outside because I liked this spot in front of the garage. Thanks for putting up with the chilly evening air! I think it’s a cute shot. Group hug!

And this next series is. Just. Awesome. I hope she won’t mind me posting these! But seriously, I’m in awe! We finished the big group portraits and then did a few smaller group pictures, and then things got a little silly here, but I totally love it.

That’s a full front split, in jeans, on the top of a bar, (and after a drink or two) all the while looking fabulous. I love all of the supportive hands in each picture from every side, just in case. True friendship!

Thanks so much Holly, Larlyn and everyone for inviting me into your group for a while. I had a lot of fun, and I hope you enjoy the photos! There’s tons more and I’ll have them ready soon. If you want to be notified when the images are posted in an online gallery, you can register here. Hope you had a great time last night!
